New Year Felicitations

Happy New Year to you, one and all.

I've been looking at new year quotes and was rather taken by this one by American writer and columnist for the Kansas City Star, Bill Vaughn.

"An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves."

I can be pessimistic if I'm not careful, but on New Years Eve, I'm definitely an optimist. Which are you?

Hi Jean,

I'm an optimist. It always pays to look at the brighter side of things.

Happy new year.

That's a really interesting quote, Jean!
I think I'm definitely an optimist (although I usually indulge in pessimistic optimism: hope for the best but expect the worst). My husband is a pessimist though; he keeps wittering on about how the world is supposed to end in 2012 according to the Mayan calendar.

Happy New Year to you though!
