Pansies - Home and Away

My rows of pansies are filling out nicely and giving me a very colourful display I can view from the kitchen window. They weren't enough to fill the bed so I've added some other plants to keep them company - still have some holes to fill though. Here's a close up of a particularly beautiful one.

When I was in Bournemouth last week I took some photos in the Lower Gardens. One of them was the award winning display of pansies below. I don't think mine compare too badly, do you?

How beautiful, Jean. They are such colorful and happy little flowers. You've done a fantastic job with your garden and how wonderful to look out your window and see these. They are lovely.

Thanks Jo. Seeing them through the window is one fo the best things and helps me get through the washing up and all the other mundane kitchen chores.

Thank you Dori. I am very pleased with them. One of the great things about pansies is the length of time they go on flowering, so I will be blessed for quite a while.

One of my favourite flowers too, and with a bit of luck they'll soon spread and you'll have a gardenful!
I wasn't sure if the ones I had last summer would survive the winter, but not only did they survive but they also seeded themselves all over the adjacent gravel.

Cheers, Linda. Pansies do seed themselves in amazing places. I've got them in pots I brought to the new house that I thought were emptied of all but soil and hadn't even bothered to water.
