The picture is of Ted, the delightful little dog who came to stay along with my granddaughter last October. We all thought he was a great dog to have around. Now my daughter tells me that a friend who has one of these sweet little King Charles Cavalier spaniels has to find a new home for it. She's going to suggest me. I'm so excited.
In case they agree, all I have to do is persuade my other half that we really, really need a dog. Each time I mention it, he says it will be too much like hard work for us wrinklies.
We've been dog owners before and we still miss, Sam, our wonderful staffie, whose cancer was sadly diagnosed too late for him to be healed. I think we really need another dog to get us out of the house regularly, let alone all the love and affection we'll get from it.

Jean, how about King Charles and the Cavaliers as the title of an article?
Lovely little dog. I'm sure you are excited. I had a German Shepard for 16 years, before she passed away. Funny enough, she was called Sam too. I still miss her, even though I have a Collie now.
If you get that little one you will not regret it. They are wonderful loving dogs and playful also.Just make sure you know why they are getting rid of it.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
What a smiler! I think you need this.
Ted has such a sweet and loving face . . . everyone needs the love and attention of dogs and they deserve your love too :) Spaniels are very sweet dogs!
Thanks for the visits and comments, everyone. And for the encouragement. Bob - that's an idea to think about.
Awww...how sweet! I hope you can convince your other half. I had to do the same thing when I decided I wanted another dog after losing the one that grew up with the children. Hubby(#2) never had a dog and didn't think he would like one. I looked for a year, but it ended up being HIM who found our puppy! (who is now 3 yrs old...and we've added a second one!)
Hubby is in love with them and treats them as his kids! I'm glad...got me out of the house regularly and has added so much extra love!
Thanks Ash. I want a dog for those exact reasons.
What an absolutely beautiful dog. Don't see how your other half can refuse! Good luck with your quest to open your home to a new pet.
Oh, thank you so much, PetsBlogs.
