Mystery Plant

This rather magnificent speciment has appeared in the middle of our potato patch. It now dwarfs all the potatoes and is displaying one or two beautiful blue bell like flowers. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Not really sure, Jean, but could it be an hibiscus. The leaf looks about right but can't really see the flower that well.

Thank you Ann. I found it at Dave's Garden today, and it is a shoo-fly plant (Nicandra physalodes) which is a member of the potato family, though not believed to be edible. I'll post a link to that useful site in my next post.
